Hotel pools have been a big hit on the vacation. So much so that twice we have invited friends over to join us at the hotel pool. One evening it was 6 kids and another parent all packed into our hotel room prior to acting like one big happy family and heading down to the pool. You have to be a hotel guest to use the pool. I told Julie, the other parent, that we could tell the pool attendant that she had had quintuplets.
Echoing screams, the tang of chlorine, and 100% humidity characterize the pool areas. So awesome just to be able to kick back and read while the kids played - HARD. They always sleep well after time at the pool. I also remember when the pool was more of an eyes-on-kids-all-the-time experience, but now they are all such good swimmers that they can fend for themselves.
Walking back to the room to change we found it was getting cleaned. All the kids scattered running up and down the halls and exploring while we waited for the room to be free. The other parent and I commented to each other that that sort of behavior has been 'kid time' at hotels since at least when we were kids. Who doesn't remember running up and down the halls of a big resort hotel as a child? Patrick
