On the float hunt a couple of weeks ago we went fairly lightweight, but since we had rafts we could carry some heavy accessories. On this last trip we had to carry everything on our own two feet, and yet we still carried some heavy luxuries - why not? We brought along eggs, wood saws, a hatchet for splitting wood, garlic and an onion, big pots, and Real food. And in reality since we were 5 people carrying communal camping gear the penalty for such stuff was not high. But it sure made for a comfy camp and helped us re charge after a day of hiking! Patrick
