Last week we did a sunset ski with the cousins. Monday's powder had turned into Tuesday's slush and then had refrozen with a dusting of snow on top. More dust on crust!
We got a bit of a late start and it seemed like it was sunset the entire time we were up there. And the sun did set shortly before we made it down the hill. The light was amazing, and yet my camera did not capture it. Only with the top photo did the camera sort of get the colors right - and I had to pump up the golden hues to get even a close approximation of what it was actually like.
Back home I realized that my camera was telling itself that snow is supposed to be white when in fact at sunset it is a golden color. So for my next 2 skis with the kids I played with the 'WB' light color settings on the camera. And the results are in the next post (to come shortly)!
