Powder at the end of the storm

Monday morning we got a storm that dumped 8 inches of powder on Pyramid.  In town it started as snow but was pouring rain by the time I got off work.  Nora wanted to go skiing and did not mind that it would be wet and windy.  I was expecting a whiteout and worried that it would to turn to all rain even on the mountain.

And when we got to the pass it was pretty much a whiteout.  But then the wind died and as we climbed up it stopped snowing and cleared up.  Miraculous!  By the time we got back to town the sun came out - the forecasted rain never happened (or not until Tuesday anyway).

On the mountain the powder was a pleasant surprise.  Point them down the hill and go kind of fun.  We skied to the car in a great swoosh.  Patrick
