Karluk Landscape

 

Karluk Lake is a beautiful place. These are some scenic pictures of the landscape down there from my recent trip.  

Funnily enough, this is the first time I have been to the south end of the island in August.  I generally go there for archaeological surveys in the spring and early summer.  Or if I am hunting in the Fall.  So I've never been down there for peak 'fireweed flower' season. Pink and very very green! Lush.
