Crew at work and at play

boat ride back to our cabin after a visit to Camp Island

A post showing the Karluk Lake crew in action.  We were only in the field for 2 weeks but we opened up 50 1X1 meter squares and finished them all.  This ended up as about 50 cubic meters of dirt.  That's a lot of dirt to move!  And we also had to move it all back into the holes when we were done.  A wheelbarrow really helped with the backfilling.  We carefully backfilled to make the structure look like it had before we started digging.

But despite all the hard work we still had some time for play!

Final day and KOB is exhausted - we still have to finish main room AND backfill

All done with backfilling - we left the hearth on top and made the structure look like it did before we started
