Granny Coco's house in Rockport |
On the first day of the vacation we landed in Boston at 6:30 in the morning, and we got our rental car and were on our way to Maine by 8AM. We had a quick Duncan Doughnuts breakfast break in Saugus and made it to Rockport, Maine in time for lunch. Granny Coco made us sandwiches for lunch and we ate out in her garden.
Then we had a lot of time to kill until we caught the ferry to North Haven at 5:30. So we went for a walk around Beauchamp Point. Nora loves to look at houses and gardens, and Rockport has some lovely examples. I am always impressed at how well tended everybody's garden and lawn seems to be in mid coast Maine. No way my garden and lawn looks like this in Kodiak!
Soon enough we were off to Rockland to catch the ferry to North Haven. We've never made it all the way to North Haven from Kodiak so fast on past vacations.

Hi Patrick, just saw your blog. Very cool. Your mother looks great, say hi to her from me. Not sure whether this comment will actually get there or not. P.s. i still have a picture of some whales that you drew and gave me when we left America 50 years ago! From Buz McIvor
ReplyDeleteI love it - and sorry I did not see your comment earlier. But it did arrive eventually! Patrick
