Yesterday evening we got back from a Labor Day, Long-weekend sojourn at Afognak. Julie and Ray and their kids Lars and Ilsa joined Stuey, Nora, Brewster and I for a weekend of fires on the beach, walks, and teepee time. We had some glorious sunny days, and had everything put into perspective with a tremendous storm. Nothing like watching 20 foot waves breaking on the rocks 50 yards from your tent!
More to come in future posts but some highlights include: Ray's hedgehog and morel mushrooms mixed with home grown garlic as pasta add on; the separate 'boys' and 'girls' forts; wrist rocket pine cone wars; and of course the resurrection of the hot tub. Patrick
