Fall Colors on the South End

Going by the old saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words' this post does not require much in the way writing.  There is already 14,000 'words' of pictures.  The South End of Kodiak is a dramatic landscape.  Vast, naked and sculpted.  There are no trees so the entire landscape is right there on the surface - nothing is hidden.  Also you can see where the old now dry glacial rivers carved out broad valleys and where there used to be lakes.  It's not hard to imagine what it all looked like at the height of the last glaciation. And such colors!
