This year to make it easier for me to edit I initially dropped all of my pictures into various folders based on categories. I had folders for winter landscapes, summer landscapes, fall and spring landscapes, the beach, family, the dogs, people doing stuff, travel and a few more. One of my best categories was 'good memories' - I put photos in this folder that I liked because of the content rather than it being a really good picture. In the past I think 'emotional attachment' meant I did not delete bad photos.
Then I looked at all the photos in each of the folders at once and it was easier to edit them because they were all directly comparable. Finally after culling most of the bad images out, I went and picked the 4 or 5 photos I liked the best from each folder - and I ended up with the 48 you see here. This is the first of three posts.
At the end, I set the 'memories' folder aside and actually added the dogs, family, and travel folders to it. So at the end of the process I have 48 'best of 2024 photos', around 500 not quite best, and then a memories folder with around 300 in it..
The top 2 pictures are from June and Early July. We had a lot of rain and cool weather early in the summer, and I tried to get pictures that showed the fog and mist. I think I did well with these two.
More pictures to come!
