Ice at Sea Level

Yesterday we went ice skating at near sea level on a much bigger pond than we did on Saturday.  There was also black ice.  I love seeing the plants on the bottom through the ice and watching the bottom go up and down as the depth changes.  The pond we were skating at is very shallow.

At first the dogs did not want to go out on the ice at all, and would chase us along the edges of the pond.  But eventually they got up their courage and came out onto the ice.  Stuey and Nora would hold onto them and catch a tow.

Now for some snow!   I must admit I will be a little sad if the snow wreaks the black ice.  But only a little.
