Snow Dogs

 

This is a panorama - there are not actually 2 Brewsters!

Yesterday I took the dogs skiing in a full on blizzard.  If this was in the lower 48 the storm would have a name.  In the pictures it does not look so bad, and I did choose a protected route up the mountain to escape the wind, but if you look at the video at the bottom of this post you'll get an idea of the wind and snow.

I was a little worried the snow would be too deep for the dogs. Indeed, when they did leave the trail they often mired down in the deep stuff.  But in general it was not too deep, and I think they enjoyed it immensely.  They chased rabbits in the spruce - no hope of catching one as the snowshoe hares run along on the top of the snow and the dogs don't - and then on the way down they chased me!
