These are all pictures from the last week. It's been a week of rain, sleet and snow. Last Thursday we got 2 feet of snow on the mountain, but then it rained and froze hard. So the downhill skiing near town is not very good. Still I'm happy because we finally have a solid base on the mountain. Up to now it has been powder directly on the rocks and grass and no snow at all high up on the mountain. But this recent set of storms was a wet one and has pasted the mountain with snow that sticks and does not blow away.
After the wet storm it froze up and the lakes have either good ice skating or good skate skiing. I prefer the skate skiing. It's actually crusty enough off of the lakes for good crust cruising on skate skis. And today is sunny with no wind! I'm happy.
