Yesterday, it cleared up just as I started to climb the mountain for my ski, and all the new snow on the trees was beautiful. Overnight we got another 6 inches of snow on the mountain but the storm ended with some rime and rain. As it cleared the temperatures also dropped and the rime and rain turned into a crust on top of the snow. So while the view was beautiful the skiing was not so good. But I caught it before the crust had totally hardened and formed what is known as a 'breakable crust'. I just had to ski aggressively to break the crust and steer the skis down the hill.
