Yesterday morning Nora and I took the dogs for a XC ski on Buskin Lake. The day before we had gone in the afternoon and the sun had already gone behind Barometer Mountain and the whole lake had been in the shade. So yesterday we wanted to catch the sun, and at this time of the year, if you want to catch the sun in the Buskin Lake Valley, you got to go early.
Nora was on classic XC skis while I ripped around with the dogs chasing me on skate skis.
Last weekend for the first time ever Bode decided he likes to chase deer. It's the husky in him. So to nip this bad habit in the bud and to keep the wildlife safe I've ordered muzzles. In the meantime, while I wait for the store-bought muzzles to arrive I made my own out of green twine. Saturday evening my muzzle attempt had totally come apart (did not really matter because we saw no deer). But yesterday my homemade muzzle stayed on well and seems to work great. Bode hates it.
A few short hours after our ski on the lake we all drove out to Whitesands Beach and caught the sunset.
