Sunday afternoon Nora, Brent, the doggies and I went for ski on Pyramid. The North Bowl is still unbroken from the top to the bottom and the ravine at the bottom is also full of snow. Basically there is still a run with a 1200 foot drop in elevation. That is pretty good for mid June. 2 years ago the North bowl melted out in mid May. I've found long term that it usually melts out in the middle around the 10th of June. So this year it is a bit better than usual.
When you ski down into the ravine it's a green jungle on the walls with singing birds when you get to the bottom. These days it's so green down low that it hurts the eyes. On Kodiak it is now 'peak green'. But for a little while longer there is still good skiing.
