These are mostly pictures from yesterday's Pyramid ski with the dogs. There is still enough snow snow for good skiing, but it is getting to be a lot of work to get to it. In the north bowl there is still about a 1000 foot vertical run of connected snow. But then you got to climb back out to get back down to the car. In the next week or so the middle of the north bowl will melt out and then it pretty much becomes 'novelty' snow skiing and is no longer worth it for the ski alone.
But there are plenty of other reasons to climb Pyramid. The wild flowers right now are getting to their peak bloom. The dogs love the exercise - Pyramid tires the doggies out like nothing else! They go full speed chasing me on skis and this time of the year the snow is firm enough that they stay on top and do not punch in. I've noticed that every day when we get to the snow they are excited to just roll and slide in the snow banks. It's almost like they are taking snow baths.
