Another post from last weekend and before it got warm. These pictures are from Saturday when Nora and I took the doggies for a walk before we went skiing. The hoar frost was spectacular with the rising sun glinting off of it.
I recently replaced my Fujifilm XT3 with the XT5 and have been experimenting with it. It takes 40MB pictures which is a HUGE bump up in size from the XT3. One setting I played with on Saturday was the 'HDR' feature (High Dynamic Range). It basically takes a couple of pictures and blends them together to create a picture with perfect exposure. In high contrast situations like the picture below, you get details in the shadows and the whites are not completely washed out. In the old days I also had this feature on my camera but you pretty much needed to use a tripod or you got blurry results. On Saturday I was pleasantly surprised that I could use the HDR feature without a tripod - and it seemed to work!
