Both Stuey and Nora are back from college and I have been skiing every day with Stuey. It's also been very windy. In fact Stuey and Nora were stuck in Anchorage for a few days because it was too windy on Kodiak for planes to land. Of course, on arrival, Stuey immediately wanted to go skiing on Pyramid. I had to convince him that due to the wind that these days the cross country skiing is MUCH better than the downhill.
One day we did go up Pyramid and he saw for himself the wreckage of the snow pack due to high winds. But all the debris put up into the air by the wind does make for some nice sunsets! There is a wind haze of ash, dirt and snow in the sky, and the light diffracts through, and makes for a mellow golden glow.
