This was yesterday on Lake Gertrude in Fort Abercrombie State Park. Pretty perfect skate skiing! I was a little bummed I did not discover it earlier. I could have been skate skiing there everyday. I went there again today after work, and the wind was picking up and it was starting to snow. It is supposed to snow on and off for the next few days - so the skate skiing on Lake Gertrude may be done. You can't skate ski when the snow gets too deep. But I don't mind - any snow is good snow and the more the better.
But Abercrombie really did have the skate skiing goods.
