These are the elk we saw on the hunt. We found the herd on the first day and harvested 2 - a bull and a cow. What's funny is that unlike last year we did not see any satellite bulls hanging out away from the herd. All the elk were bunched up close together in one spot.
I figure we carried around 500 pounds of elk and bone off of the mountain. Then after butchering it back home - removing the bones, trimming off the smelly stuff and fat - we ended up with about 400 pounds of packaged meat. Pretty good meat haul!
