XC skiing with Red and Bodi

Yesterday I took the dogs out to Bells Flats and we cross country skied up the Rifle Range road and Salonie Creek Valley.  Our friend Squishy had set the track during a ski earlier in the day and had suggested the option - and boy are we glad that he did.  It was the perfect sunset ski.

The dogs ran along in the packed tire ruts while I skied along in the XC ski tracks.  As we skied up the road the sun slowly set and bathed us in golden light.  Up past the rifle range we skied under the big cottonwood trees in the gloaming light. The snow was perfectly soft and it was really nice to have a set track not all beaten down by hikers and snowshoers.
