Yesterday I went for a frosty early morning ski up the Salonie Creek Valley. The Heitman Mountain to the east blocked the sun from reaching the valley floor. But Kashevaroff Mountain to the west was lit up in the morning sunshine. The trees silhouetted against the lit up mountain made for some dramatic views and I could not stop taking pictures. It was really a beautiful morning.
The XC skiing was pretty good too. I had a nice beaten in trail for about 1/2 way up the valley. Then I broke trail in dry snow for a couple of miles. On the way back it was all fast and broken in and I flew. On the way back I barely even stopped for pictures.
