The last couple of days I have been taking my dogs skiing down into the North Bowl on Pyramid Mountain. There is still a connected run of around 800 vertical feet - a very decent run. Skiing back to the car there is no longer continuous snow and you have to hike down from just above the Jibber Bowl.
The middle of the North Bowl usually melts out around the 15th of June and from then on the North Bowl is 2 long runs with a thin strip of grass between them. But that has not happened yet and I am hopeful that it will not happen in the next few days either. This is still better skiing than we had back early December, and pretty soon easy convenient skiing will be done for the year. So time to get it while I still can.
And the doggies love the long run on the snow. It is now solid enough that they can really fly. Bode and Red are faster than Rey and like to run out in front of me while Rey chases along behind.
