During our bear sight seeing tour to the Katmai Coast on the Alaska Peninsula I took a lot of pictures. It took me days to decide which ones I liked. What made it difficult is that all the pictures looked pretty good. It is hard to take a truly bad picture of a bear, and the scenery was spectacular. While editing I looked for my bear pictures that had 'just a little bit more to them'. Maybe the bear was smiling, or looking at me, or was surrounded by mountains. After visiting the Alaska Peninsula a few times to see bears, I have decided that with a good lens and camera it is very easy to take good pictures of bears. What's difficult is editing them and deciding which ones are good!
I posted the initial best ones ones on my first bear blog post a few days ago. The ones in this post are the ones I decided were good after I had been editing a while. Looking through the photos on this post I notice that most of them are not of the bears. Next time I go over there I am going to take more landscape pictures.
