Warm and wet

It's warm again.

Here on Kodiak we enjoyed a solid couple weeks of winter weather.  We even had ice skating and cross country skiing in town.  Bright skies, snow reflecting the light long after dark and No Mud.  And then Saturday morning a 'Pineapple Express' of warm air arrived straight from Hawaii.  Goodbye cold and crisp - Hello warm and wet.  Hello muddy paw prints in the house and gloomy skies.

But it's not all bad.  On these warm stormy days I love my walks with the dogs under the trees in Abercrombie State Park.  It always seems so green.  And along the cliffs you look out over the ocean and watch the waves break against the shore.  I am always amazed at how windy and energetic it is along the coast, and yet once you walk the other way a couple of hundred yards it is so calm, placid and green.  Quite the contrast.  Patrick
