Skating on high and down low

Kodiak has had some winter like temperatures of late.  All the lakes have frozen over and there is good ice skating.  Meanwhile on high we have a lot of snow, and, while it is a little too icy for good downhill skiing, there is some good 'crust cruising' conditions for skate skis.

So yesterday in the morning I climbed up into the mountains and caught the sunrise while skate skiing, and then in the afternoon I went ice skating in the sunshine with Nora and her cousin Leo.  I took a bunch of photos of them on Saturday (see earlier post) so they would not let me take anymore ice skating photos.  Hence there are only photos of me that I convinced Nora to take!  Patrick
