I gather that there are 9 ski areas to choose from at Hakuba and there are 5 main mountains. Nora and I only skied at 3 of them. So there is plenty to choose from and if you stayed a while you could ski all the mountains, up the variety, and never get bored skiing the same old mountain. And there is also guided back country skiing. So Hakuba is an excellent place to go skiing.
In this post I am featuring some 'snow' scenics from Hakuba. I must admit I loved the trees I saw on the mountain, but I am chagrined to admit I do not know the species. It was mostly deciduous trees - they looked sort of like maples and oaks, but I could see that they were different too. With all the deciduous trees it was sort of like skiing in the Appalachians - only with mountains like you find in the Rockies.
