Lemonade

Stuey got back from Latvia while Nora and I were in Japan.  So Last week I started to ski every day with Stuey.  Early in the week the weather was cold and sunny and there was skate skiing on the lake at Abercrombie.  But then on Thursday it rained - HARD. We almost went downhill skiing at the pass but the prospect of skiing in the rain did not appeal to us.

Then we ran into Uncle Dicky and made a group decision to go ice skating on the Lake at Abercrombie.  The same lake we'd been skate skiing on the previous couple of days.  We got to the lake and it was pouring. But there was Uncle Dicky out there kite winging.  So Stuey and I joined him. And the ice skating was weirdly fantastic.  It was black ice under the water and the water reduced the friction and made the skating super fast.

It was like walking on water and with one kick you'd glide forever.  Very surreal and a lot of fun.  We had basically made lemonade out of a lemon of a day!
