Our Last Evening in Tokyo

It's been almost 2 weeks since we got back from Japan and I am down to the final 3 posts on the trip.  This one covers our final evening in Tokyo.  We left Hakuba and took the bullet train back to Tokyo.  And then we had one final night and half a day in Tokyo before we flew home.  Funnily enough, because of the time change we left Japan Sunday evening and arrived in Seattle early Sunday afternoon.  We arrived before we left!

In any case, a final day in Tokyo gave me a chance to do some more street photography, and Nora a little more time shopping.  On our final evening we went on a shopping/photography walk.  In Japan the main shopping time is in the evening after dark.  In fact, most stores do not open until 11AM and they stay open until late (I never found out how late).  So in the evening the streets are bustling with people.  All the trees are also lit up and it is quite the scene.

We were in the trendy part of town near the Tokyo Train Station and I think it is a travel destination for young Japanese people.  We saw lots of wedding photography going on and people taking selfies of themselves on the lit up streets. I wanted Nora to take a selfie of herself with all the other people behind her taking selfies, but she chickened out.
