| Daffodils on the the graves at Graveyard Point |
I spent Memorial day checking out the old graveyards and garden plots in Old Afognak Village. It is amazing what's still growing more than 50 years after the village was abandoned following the Great Alaskan Earthquake and tsunami. Perhaps the most poignant sight was the daffodils blooming over the graves in the old graveyard.
The most significant new plant is the mint. I can't wait to make mojitos with the mint in rum later on this summer!
| Raspberry from Dennis K's old plot |
| Rhubarb from JP's old plot |
| I could not ID this one - very aromatic (tansy?) |
| Currant of some sort - not sure if it is black or red |
| Holy Mojito - it's mint |
