While out East one of my favorite walks was over to my Aunt Sally's farm. Whenever we stay at Sherborn we always make a point of visiting Charlescotte farm (click here for a past post, and here for a really old post). In years past we have helped collect eggs, fed pigs, and petted the sheep. This year it was all about the cows.
The cows are usually spread out all over the place in fields, but this year they were all penned up in one place. The Norfolk Hunt has a Thanksgiving fox hunt through the fields (blog post to come) - so they had to get the cows out of the fields. The cows all in one place made it easy to see them. And we also got lucky and arrived just at feeding time!
Then on the way home we visited the family graveyard and checked out the old graves. I noticed that my grandfather had a vet flag for his service in WWI. I also found a grave from a guy who clearly served during the Revolutionary War - WOW!.

This guy was a vet and based on date of death and age he clearly fought in the Revolution! |
