East Coast Thanksgiving
There were almost 30 cousins, friends and family at George's house for Thanksgiving dinner, and that is not including other cousins who stopped by to visit but had their own Thanksgiving dinners elsewhere. It was a pretty big event. But the food really did not matter as much as the kids getting to visit with their cousins.
After the meal there was touch football in the backyard and an extended game of hide and seek in the house. Stuey is credited with the best hiding place - behind a coat in the mudroom. Out in plain sight and yet hidden! The gig was up when my mom noticed his feet.
Before the vacation I was a little worried about going to 'boring old Boston' when for the same amount of effort we could have gone some place exotic like Hawaii or Arizona. Yet Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving, and the kids did enjoy meeting with the extended family. Far better and more lasting memories to be had with family in Boston that on some boring old sunny beach in Hawaii!
