Stuey and I thought the 500 piece snow scene puzzle just had to be the toughest ever (click here for post), but this last one, a 1000 piece landscape of a castle was tougher. We did the castle building and blue sky relatively quickly and then just totally stalled. The trees took forever - whole evenings where you'd only find a few pieces.
For the last 2 puzzles all the pieces came in just a few general shapes, and you basically had to sort the pieces by color and texture to find where they went. They have also had a solid straight edge to put together first.
But the new puzzle from Granny Coco that Stuey and I are working on right now is cut from wood and all the pieces are individually cut. Pieces are shaped like different animals, skaters, skiiers etc. There are also very few edge pieces, and the puzzle cutter tried to disguise the edges. The cutter also intentionally cut along color lines etc. Needless to say but it is a 'tough' puzzle too. Maybe the 'toughest ever'.
