Virginia Creek

It rained all day Saturday, and into Sunday morning. So we were hopeful that by Sunday afternoon the rivers would be high for whitewater rafting. Mid afternoon we loaded up the boats and hit Virginia Creek. This is the creek we cleared of sweepers last weekend. And. ... .. the water was low!

Still it was a pretty good time. The gorge is a beautiful little tunnel through the spruce trees, and Stuey got to try a hard shell kayak for the first time. It was a good chance to practice. Still, next time we plan on kayaking it when the water is high!

Linked here (click here) is a post from back in the day that shows a video of what Virginia creek is like at high water. And click here for another Philip whitewater rafting video of Sargent Creek.
