Bear Mountain
I've been skiing a lot with the kids lately. This past week was actually Spring Break for the kids and we were supposed to go the Alyeska ski resort in Girdwood. So the plan for the past week had always been for lots of time skiing together as a family. It's just there were supposed to be lifts, a fancy hotel to stay at, and good restaurant meals. Instead we are at home and have been eating my meals!
Last night we had a deer roast, gravy and air fryer cooked potatoes. Before that we had a Shepards pie made from deer burger with potatoes and carrots from the garden. And then there was the elk stew. So there has very much been a local theme!
These are some pictures from my ski Friday afternoon with Nora. In the morning I had gone skate skiing with Stuey (see post below). Nora and I climbed up Bear Mountain. Ordinarily there is not enough snow to ski this mountain down to the road. But this year it is excellent, and there is a great view out over Buskin Lake.
