Today Stuey and I went skate skiing up Salonie Creek. I knew Salonie was good to go because I went there on Friday (post to come). Stuey has been skate skiing with me on lakes but I thought it was time for more of a 'cross country'- exploring type experience. And Salonie Creek was perfect.
We drove in to the rifle range, put on our skis and away we went. It was perfect crust cruising - ski anywhere type conditions. We flitted through the trees faster than you go when riding on a bike. Pretty ideal. We went up the river a ways and then skied back down to the car.
Best of all, Stuey wants to go again tomorrow.
